For an hour or more, not a word was spoken, engrossed in our books, knowing that we are together, sensing each other’s presence, no pressure to strike a conversation, no need for dialogues or monologues. Being quiet in each other’s company where even silence does not feel heavy. Where everything slows down, there is no rush to be anywhere else. Calmness prevails within. A feeling of comfort and tranquillity takes over us. We feel content, content in that presence.
